ERRUPTION OF MERAPI

Mount Merapi, Gunung Merapi is an active stratovolcano located on the border between Central Java and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is the most active volcano in Indonesia and has erupted regularly since 1548. It is located 28 kilometres (17 mi) north of Yogyakarta city, and thousands of people live on the flanks of the volcano, with villages as high as 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) above sea level
On 25 October 2010, BVMG ( instance of volcanology, meteorology and geophysics ), shocked by the rise of Merapi volcanic activity that more high than usual. Then, BVMG confirm to change the status become highest level and warned the people who live arrond 10 km near Merapi to evacuate their self. On Monday afternoon 25 October 2010 Merapi erupted three times,its at 14:04, 14:24 and 15:15. it give rael warning to people to evacuate their self immediately but many people had not left their house because of many reason.

Then, The eruptions on 26 October started at 17:02. it killed 40 include 'juru kunci' of M erapi , Mbah Maridjan. Merapi exploded again at October 5 2010 which is the biggest explosion during the last 140 years, it was so scared. BVMG warned to peple who live arrond 20 km from Merapi to evacuate their self. This errupton killed more than 100 people and injured for more than 130 people. This eruptions bring ash falls in the surrounding area of Central Java had destroyed vegeatables and contaminate the water. The school stop their study and teach activity.
This errupton was continue happen. By 22 November, the death toll had risen to 304, and by 24 November the toll had risen to 324, Then, By 3 December the death toll had risen to 353.
